...tag?

Tags are one-word designators that you can assign to the feeds you'd like to bookmark, organize, share, and read later.

Why tags?

The variety of feed topics is so vast, that it makes it impossible to classify them without creating a complicated and cumbersome directory-like structure. Instead, Feedest relies on the members assigning keyword-tags to the feeds. When different members use same tags to mark various feeds, these keywords create instant cross-references allowing other members to find more feeds related to the topic. This is a lot more flexible than forcing the feeds into a pre-defined hierarchy of categories and sub-categories. It also allows our system to analyze feed's relevance, gauge popularity, suggest related feeds, offer most popular tags, and more.

The rules.

You can assign as many tags to a feed as you wish. You can edit or delete your tags at a later point.

Any characters can be used, except:

  • Space. Empty space serves as a tag delimiter.
  • Double quote. Might confuse database queries.
  • Forward slash. Feedest takes advantage of Search Engine Safe URL, where "/" character is crucial for properly resolving the URLs.

Examples.

Yes:
mytag
my.tag
my_tag
my-tag
my*tag

No:
my tag
"mytag"
my/tag
