The Beach House

The Beach House is a fresh, absolutely-beachfront Bali rental villa, located on the sweeping Seminyak Beach and blessed with magnificent unobstructed views of the Indian Ocean. The revolutionary contemporary design is a study in perfect symmetry, presenting Palimanan stone walls, teakwood panelling, a crisp white decor, and massive floor-to-rooftop sliding glass doors to maximise the panoramic vista.

Accommodation and facilities include four air-conditioned master bedrooms, complete with audio and visual facilities and ensuite bathrooms, an open-plan living and dining area, a study, and a fully-equipped kitchen. This glamorous holiday villa in Bali is complemented by a flat beachside lawn with a 15-metre swimming pool, and poolside bale’-style relaxation pavilion that incorporates an extensive bar.

Three of the four ensuite bathrooms are open to the sky, while each bedroom boasts sliding glass doors opening onto a private balcony or terrace. Each luxurious king-size bed at The Beach House is oriented towards the beach ensuring that guests will be lulled to sleep by the tranquil rhythm of the breaking waves.

Bedrooms
The Beach House presents four master suites of equal importance, each furnished with luxurious built-in king size beds oriented towards the beach, and each boasting an indoor/outdoor bathroom. The white theme is complemented by white bedside lamps, built in cupboards, an ottoman and a floor rug, and each bedroom is equipped with air-conditioning, a satellite-channel TV and DVD player, safe deposit boxes, and a desk located behind the bed. Sliding glass doors open onto a Palimanan stone balcony or, in the case of the two ground floor bedrooms, onto a spacious terrace, each balcony or terrace is furnished with daybeds, affording spectacular coastline views stretching all the way down to Uluwatu on the Island’s southern tip. Guests will be lulled to sleep every night by the rhythmic sound of the waves.

Ensuite Bathrooms
Each ensuite bathroom boasts its own individual characteristics. Each is accessed via sliding glass doors and each is fashioned in cream terrazzo or creamy-white Palimanan with a wall-length vanity unit, crafted in rough tumble marble, complete with wall mirrors and twin washbasins. Each is fitted with a rainshower, a bathtub and toilet. One of the upstairs bathrooms features a romantic open rooftop setting for bathing under the stars in a huge oval terrazzo tub shielded by bulrushes. The other upstairs bathroom presents an indoor bathtub positioned next to sliding glass windows that can be fully opened to create a semi-open air experience. Both of the downstairs bathrooms are set within small walled gardens, complete with towering palm trees. One offers a bathtub positioned at a lower level, sheltered by a roof and surrounded by timber decking with a rainshower above the tub; the other has a feature tub and a rainshower open to the sky.

Living Room
The living room is located at the front of the house to maximise the ocean view. This splendid inner atrium is flooded with natural light, creating the illusion of the exterior being part of the interior. It extends the full height of the building with a massive cathedral window in the form of floor-to-roof sliding glass doors that can be fully opened for semi al fresco tropical living, or closed for cosy air-conditioned comfort. The room is furnished with a deeply cushioned L-shaped sofa and ottoman, a chair and footstool, a shag pile rug, a glass topped coffee table, standard lamps and a long sideboard, while colourful artwork adorns the walls. Facing west, this room indulges guests with an armchair view of Bali’s legendary sunsets.

Dining Room
A small step leads up from the living area into the open-plan, air-conditioned dining room, which is furnished with a grand dining table with twelve upholstered chairs. Hi-tech amenities include a surround sound system and a computer corner complete with WiFi internet access. To one side of the dining area is a bar with marble work surfaces and a white service counter. There is also a guest washroom and shower on the ground floor.

Kitchen
An immaculate white kitchen with stainless steel appliances is tucked away behind the bar, conveniently close to the dining area.

Study Room
A terrazzo floating staircase leads up to a U-shaped timber clad mezzanine reminiscent of a gallery, extending around three sides of the atrium, with a study room positioned in the centre. This cosy air-conditioned room is furnished with segmented sofas, an ottoman, a shag pile rug, a set of three occasional tables, a lazy chair, standard lamps and a 51″ satellite-channel TV/DVD player.

Bale-Gazebo
The poolside relaxation ‘bale’ is an open-sided pavilion with a built in daybed and a bar with a sliding door. Cooled by sea breezes and a ceiling fan, this is a wonderful spot to chill out to the sound of the ocean and enjoy late afternoon cocktails with daily front row seats for Bali’s breathtaking sunsets.

Pool & Garden
The neat, flat garden literally spills out onto the beach unbroken by borders and fences, yet well protected by the villa’s security team. The flat lawn is punctuated with three towering coconut palms and two fragrant frangipani trees. The enticing 15 x 5 metre, infinity-edge swimming pool is lined with rustic Java stone and bordered by a timber deck.

Location
As its name suggests The Beach House is located absolutely beach front on Petitenget Beach on Bali’s glorious southwestern coast, with a panoramic vista that stretches all the way down to Uluwatu on the Island’s southern tip.

This enviable location is not only metres away from the rolling surf of the Indian Ocean but also mere minutes away from a wide choice of internationally acclaimed restaurants, including the famous Ku De Ta, La Lucciola, Living Room Hu’u Bar and Sarong. It is also within walking distance of a varied collection of chic designer boutiques.

This is the area that is now considered to be the Seminyak ‘Prime District’ - a safe, upmarket neighbourhood that is home to some of the classiest properties on the island. It is close to the well-known Oberoi and Legian Hotels, 25 minutes’ drive from the airport, and convenient for all of Bali’s main shops, shopping malls, tourist attractions and vibrant nightspots. The sweeping beach on the doorstep of The Beach House is renowned for its world-class surf breaks, panoramic coastline views and picture-perfect sunsets. Easily accessible sporting amenities include a choice of superb championship golf courses, tennis, horseback riding, dive schools, sailing cruises and much more.

The location of The Beach House offers easy access up to the mountains and rice terraces on the western slopes; it is 80 minutes from the famous cultural and artistic town of Ubud, and just five minutes’ from the start of the Sunset Route, gateway to the eastern side of the island.

Four @ Drupadi

Four @ Drupadi is a stylish villa complex for discerning travellers that is strategically located in the heart of Seminyak. It is within close walking distance to some of the most cosmopolitan dining and shopping venues that the island of Bali has to offer.

The main entrance into the property is an interesting contrast that suggests the element of surprise. A modern reception area and adjacent cardio workout room is orientated towards a traditional Balinese rice barn that houses a small library of novels and lifestyle publications.

The four individual villa compounds face a long stretch of manicured lawn studded with a handful of coconut palms. This provides an ideal environment for outdoor gatherings such as a private wedding or garden party.

A property that celebrates the spirit of tropical living, Four @ Drupadi showcases four unique design concepts enveloped within a secluded compound complete with a private pool. Each villa takes on the theme from a different region around the world that is recognised for its strength, character and cultural identity. The four villa categories are named Youbi, Pyaar, Amore and Cinta - each means love which is the universal language for life itself.

YOUBI ~ JAPAN
This tastefully appointed two bedroom retreat soothes the senses through a Japanese inspired decor. Simple timber furnishings with bold red accents and quirky pieces of oriental artistry add to the visual appeal of this environment. Polished bamboo is prominent throughout the entire villa - from the panelled kitchen counter to the upstairs canopied bed and the tall outdoor fence surrounding the pool that ensures total security.

Japanese Aesthetics
Nestled within a secured garden compound, Youbi is a well appointed two bedroom villa that offers sanctuary from the complications and stress of the outside world. Inspired by the Japanese flair for aesthetic harmony, it is a place to restore depleted energy levels and attain personal balance.

Feast for the Senses
Youbi provides a feast for the senses with its mood enhancing interior. The living cum dining environment displays dark timber furnishings complemented by rich red cushions and Ikebana styled floral arrangements. A kitchen alcove, with a bamboo inlaid breakfast bar, features all necessary appliances to prepare healthy snacks or entertain small social gatherings of friends.

Personal Comfort
The ground floor master bedroom is a private suite that exudes calm for quiet moments alone. Rattan blinds, drawn closed as protection from the intense heat of the day, permit individual rays of sunlight to gently spill across the futon bed. It is an uncomplicated setting that addresses all needs for personal comfort. An indulging spa styled bathroom has been designed to incorporate double vanity space, an outdoor shower and generous bathtub. A signature range of bathroom amenities and scented candles add a touch of unexpected luxury.

Chill Out
Youbi’s second storey overlooks an enchanting Japanese rooftop garden with white pebbles and potted bonsai shrubs. A separate lounge area with a cane sofa is the perfect spot to laze the afternoon away and catch up on some holiday reading. While a low table setting upon Tatami matting can be used to play card games or serve afternoon tea.

Adult Privacy
The spare bedroom has also been designed as a private adult retreat. An oversized canopied bed made from chunky lengths of polished bamboo is adorned with plump cushions and freshly laundered linen. A discreetly hidden dressing area with ample storage space leads into the en-suite bathroom, which exposes contrasting black and stone work.

Outdoor Serenity
The garden environment fully embraces the concept of healthy outdoor living with a pool and an Onzen, a hot bath Jacuzzi to nurture the body, mind and spirit. Native flora has been kept to a bare minimum to create a peaceful zenlike ambience. Long strips of bamboo have been used to heighten the outer boundary walls of the villa and enhance overall privacy. Matching sun-loungers are positioned in a far corner beneath the willowy shade of a local evergreen.

PYAAR ~ INDIA
Reminiscent of an Indian home filled with colourful treasures and rich textiles, Pyaar is an exclusive three-bedroom villa category designed for optimal comfort. It features an integrated living cum dining space that overlooks the pool for quality family time. The upstairs master bedroom is a meticulous crafted sanctuary with timber panels and an elevated ceiling. Imported furnishings from a bygone era such as a colonial styled desk and traditional floor cushions inject a touch of authenticity into this exceptional setting.

Indian Flair
Designed to recreate the comfort and welcoming ambience of an Indian home, Pyaar is a well appointed three-bedroom villa retreat nestled within a private garden compound. It is a vibrant setting that nurtures the senses through the use of colour and decorative pieces that give insight into India’s timeless cultural heritage.

Exotic Decor
The ideal holiday base in Bali for a family travelling with children or a small group of friends, Pyaar offers modern conveniences to enhance every stay. A tasteful living area has been created for long evenings of social interaction. An old fashioned chaise lounge in rich red fabric with textured cushions is an interesting contrast against walls of soft yellow. While the focal point of the entire room is a swinging love seat that was once customary for couples to sit upon during the pageantry of a traditional Indian wedding. Exotic drums in different sizes and other aesthetic treasures are scattered around to add visual appeal.

Tropical Charm
An integrated kitchen cum dining area is orientated towards the pool with full length doors that open wide for a seamless living effect. It is a delightful spot to enjoy a leisurely breakfast before the heat of the day sets in. The kitchen comes equipped with all necessary appliances and tableware for those who choose to occasionally dine in or entertain an intimate circle of friends and loved ones.

Private Bedrooms
Two bedrooms are located on the ground floor and are suitably distanced to ensure optimal levels of privacy. Almost identical in appearance, each features a generous canopied bed with crisp white linen and a splash of colour from sari inspired cushions. Both bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom with lavish facilities and signature body products.

Classic Master Suite
The upstairs master suite bedroom is an adult sanctuary with a traditional high ceiling and timber panelled walls. Classic styled window shutters have been intricately carved and can be left open to capture drifts of refreshing sea breeze. Customized furnishings including a colonial desk, cosy armchair and coloured floor cushions transport guests back in time to a bygone era. The ensuite bathroom blends old fashioned copper wash basins with high-tech facilities such as a rain shower for personal bathing indulgence.

Outdoor Living
Pyaar is blessed with a charming outdoor environment complete with swimming pool that is edged by a stone feature wall with statues and flowing water. It is a setting to embrace the concept of tropical living that essentially replenishes the body, mind and spirit. A pair of casual timber chairs is faced towards a manicured garden of native flora to sit and read or just laze the day away in quiet contemplation.

AMORE ~ EUROPE
Amore personifies contemporary European design with a prevailing white decor intercepted by splashes of vivid blue and cutting edge lighting accessories. Bathed in natural sunlight, this two-bedroom villa is a calming environment for sophisticated travellers to unwind in true style. Amore is characterised by the aesthetics of modern living and bold pieces of artistry that transcend the imagination.

Contemporary Retreat
Amore is two-bedroom villa ensconced within the walls of a tropical compound to provide a welcome escape from the hedonistic pace of city living. It is a retreat that defines contemporary European design with its pure white decor creating a blank canvas for sporadic splays of vibrant colour.

Spaciously Appointed
Amore is accessed via an unassuming gateway that opens wide to reveal a modern interpretation of a decorative Balinese stone inlaid wall, which is locally believed to be a source of protection to deter spirits. The villa beyond is a two-storey structure with an abundance of full length doors and windows that seamlessly bring elements of the green garden inside.

Ultra Sophisticated
An ultra sophisticated living cum dining space is located on the ground floor and also incorporates a spotless kitchen alcove. This comes in handy for guests who prefer to maintain their own dietary regime or to stock up on snacks and cold beverages for poolside consumption. Unusual light fixtures, multiple ceramic vases, and aesthetic artworks bring a personal touch into this predominantly white environment. During the day this entire area is bathed in natural lighting that filters through a glass skylight. But as evening descends it also captures the inky darkness of the star studded night sky.

Sanctuary for the Senses
The master bedroom is a sanctuary for the senses and follows the same bold decor of blue accents upon a white backdrop. A comfortable bed sits slightly below a unique glass panel structure that is lit at nightfall for a soft glowing effect. Ample wardrobe space is discreetly tucked out of the way and a luxury en-suite bathroom features a separate tub and outdoor shower recess.

Private Niche
An inconspicuous stairwell leads up to the second storey where there is a cosy niche beneath an elevated ceiling for optimal air circulation. A built-in bench seat is covered in coloured scatter cushions and at the opposite end is a low opium table rested upon a cowhide rug and a quirky light fixture.

Restful Slumber
The second bedroom is a tranquil space that evokes nights of restful slumber. A four poster bed with mosquito netting and crisp white linen lends itself to moments of intimacy, while the modern en-suite bathroom ensures that every bathing ritual is one of spa styled indulgence.

Poolside Indulgence
Outside a garden of blossoming flora and native greenery provides an obvious contrast to the minimalist lines of the villa. The pool is edged in creamy white stone pavers with a Grecian styled water feature sprouting a continuous flow into the shallow end. It is an area to lie back, relax and feel the penetrating warmth of the sun.

CINTA ~ BALI
Cinta is a spacious three-bedroom villa that pays tribute to the island of Bali and its artistic heritage. Designed to embrace the outdoors, Cinta overlooks a fish pond that harmoniously blends indigenous flora and blossoming frangipani trees. Rustic furnishings, carved statues and an earthy decor create a calming ambience that nurtures the body, mind and sprit. A relaxed upstairs living area is semi-open to capture the refreshing afternoon sea breeze. This area features a full sized billiard table and generous day bed for reading or quiet contemplation.

Balinese Elegance
Cinta is a stylish three-bedroom villa that embodies Bali’s cultural traditions and artistic legacy. Secluded within its own tropical compound, Cinta is a restful retreat for travellers to enjoy quality time out from the demands of modern living.

Open Living
Access into the villa is via a private entrance that reveals the sound of water gently flowing into a lily pond. The open-plan living area is filled with sunlight and the sounds of nature. It is a place to wind down and appreciate the blessing of each new day.

Tropical Serenity
A kitchen alcove filled with all necessary equipment and tableware is discreetly tucked away in a far corner. The dining table, which is literally a solid chuck of polished timber, is a social gathering point and lends itself to long evenings of social interaction with good food, conversation and chilled bottles of wine. A pair of intricately wood carved guardian statues watches over this setting with hands clasped as a gesture of warm hospitality. In another corner is a unique daybed positioned to overlook the serenity of the pond. Its cushions are covered in Bali’s signature black and white chequered cloth that symbolises the balance between the physical and unseen worlds.

Local Artistry
The downstairs living area is a comfortable setting facing the swimming pool with locally handcrafted chairs and other visually appealing aesthetic pieces and artefacts. Here the ceiling cuts away to a mezzanine setting where a wraparound traditional painting draws the eyes upwards. The delicate beauty of this kamasan style of artistry, which can also be seen in the 17th century Hall of Justice in Klungkung regency, adds a vibrant touch of colour.

Restful Slumber
Identical bedroom suites are located on the ground floor of the villa and showcase the spirit of Balinese workmanships. Canopied beds are placed beneath a feature wall of panelled timber that creates an interesting textured effect and complements all other furnishings. Each room has been designed as a nurturing retreat for nights of restful slumber. Exclusive en-suite bathroom facilities include a generous bathtub and outdoor shower.

Leisure Space
Another living environment with timber floors and a high roof top is located upstairs and is open to embrace the elements. This area reveals a full sized billiard table that will provide hours of recreational fun for travellers of all ages. A giant four-poster daybed is orientated to capture the breeze and provides a quiet niche to read or take pleasure in a leisurely afternoon nap.

Personal Sanctuary
The master bedroom is a sanctuary for adults with its king sized bed, matching timber furnishings and colour scheme of earthy shades. A spa inspired en-suite bathroom features a separate shower recess, stone inlaid bathtub and nurturing amenities to ensure personal bathing indulgence.

The Istana

Five years post its inception and redefining private luxury villas on the island, the Istana is undergoing some alterations. Gfab Architects, one of Asia’s leading design firms has conceived of, and is implementing the changes to the villas interior and structure. The aim of the works is to update and freshen the villa; there will be an entirely new look, while still maintaining the essence of the Istana. The focus was that this would be a modern approach yet still being firmly rooted in Balinese traditions and creativity. An emphasis on comfort and privacy for guests has been forefront on the mind of the architects and the owners. The villa will afford more varied and comfortable places to gather and the bedrooms have been reworked so that when guest want to get away from it all they comfortably can read or sunbathe, watch TV in their rooms.

The Entrance
Previously the single line vehicle entrance that led to the walk way and then to the view was lacking in any expectation. Changes have been made to prolonging the journey and un-wrapping the entrance experience more slowly. This is achieved by amending the position of the entrance gate, a change also strongly advised by Balinese priests as guests will now enter on the 7th bay which is far more auspicious in local traditions. A new covered parking bay has been created so that vehicles will have shade and be cooler on entrance.

Living Room
The entrance walkway steps up slowly through the lotus ponds at the front and allows a framed view on approach, this is more in keeping with a traditional Balinese entrance as it is believed that evil spirits cannot turn corners. Only upon entering the living room, will then the view take away one’s breath. The furniture will be amended and enlarged so you have a large modular system which can be arranged to suit any occasion. There continues to be a bar in the living space. Large stone designs have been amended within the walls to include a combination of carving and niches to house traditional antiquities.

The Dining Room
The dining room has been enlarged so can comfortably seat twelve on normal occasions and up to eighteen people when required, all new furniture, timber paneled ceilings and fabric paneled walls compliments the scene. A large folding glazed wall to the ocean view and a slot window to the entrance elevation afford privacy from staff areas. The new wall paneling is composed of hand printed fabrics in silver grays and blues.

The AV Room
The AV room now boasts a state-of-the-art projector systems that throws images onto a massive screen; the room will fully black out and have cinema quality viewing with Bose surround sound home theatre. As a backdrop, the walls are paneled in blues and grays in handmade traditionally inspired fabrics. The huge lounging sofa and footstools will make viewing a pleasure.

The Bale
The bale is being replaced with a larger and deeper structure, closer to the cliff edge with a seating area at the front, Horigatsu dining and a bar and built-in BBQ to the rear. The planting to the front has been reduced to afford views of breaking waves.

Master Bedroom
The master bedroom has been remodeled, the bathroom space has been enlarged and as well as an oversized bed there is a large day bed with a swiveling and concealable TV, to permit easy viewing from bed and lounger. A large sunken bath is now the central feature in the air-conditioned bathroom, which also hosts a separate shower, toilet and dressing areas. Complimenting this outside is a new and larger additional shower in the private garden. The bedroom walls are paneled in grays and blues fabric panels and the space has a more personal scale which also allows for more efficient airconditioning.

The Ocean and Garden Bedrooms
All the bedrooms have an ornate carved headboard while still in keeping with the cleaner look of the new Istana along with boasting a totally revamped larger dressing and bathing area, external shower and internal pedestal bath. For the Ocean rooms day beds and desks along with comfortable lounge chairs have been included as well as some external garden furniture that will allow clients far more comfort in their rooms than previously. The large windows into the living area have been replaced with a slot window to allow more privacy to these suites. In the Garden bedrooms, the entrances in those rooms have been given large private gardens with sunloungers; they also now possess 42″ TV screens in each and additional walls to ensure privacy.

The Kids Room
The staff wing has an additional floor added which house a ‘children’s wing’, there is children’s sleeping split level beds and a play room, that features games and TV systems with latest play station and Wii games. There is also an adjacent maids room. A pool room has also been added.

The Kitchens and Staff Flow
The kitchens have been totally revamped and enlarged, while providing new equipment to deal more efficiently with catered events and weddings. Staff thoroughfares have been planned to keep all as concealed and unintrusive from guests as possible.
