One of the most memorable and pervasive components of “Star Wars”, is the “Force.” The Force is an ever-present form of energy which can be used by those who have that particular capability. It is described in the first film as “an energy field created by all living things that surround us, penetrates us, and binds the galaxy together.” The Force permits the user to perform a variety of supernatural feats—such as clairvoyance, telekinesis, and mind control. It can also magnify certain physical traits, such as natural reflexes and speed. While the Force can be used for good and useful purposes, it has a dark side as well.
