We had so much fun with our first attempt at launching our cash contest that we’ve decided to keep running the contest each and every month.  How does a potential $100.00 sound each and every month; especially this close to Christmas?

We did not have any winners with our first go around therefore for the month of October we are upping the anti with last months cash prize being added to this months cash prize.  That means you can pick up $200 in October just for meeting contest criteria.  We are adding one added stipulation to this month since we are doubling the cash prize this month.  The added criteria is that instead of 15 votes you will need to pick up 25 positive votes.

Here are the rules once again with a change in how many votes you need to pick up…

Each and every month my wife and I are giving away $100.00. The mom to get the $100.00 will need to have created a free account on this parenting community for mothers and write posts through out the month.  The account created needs to be a blog account and not a user account or else you won’t be able to blog.

The rules are pretty straight forward. All you need to do is create an account with us if you don’t already have one and then write catchy posts that others will want to read and then vote on. The mother with the post that has the most votes during the month at the end of the month will be declared the winner.

You can write many posts to increase your chances of more people liking any one of your posts. You can also ask your friends and family to vote for your posts so that you get more and more votes.

We do have a few conditions that must be followed in order to qualify for the $100.00 ($200.00 in October). They are:

1. You MUST be a current or new blogger on our community of blogging mothers. - Create Account
2. You MUST post at least one post on your new blog.
3. The winning post MUST have at least 15 positive votes to qualify (25 positive votes for October’s $200.00 cash prize).
4. You cannot create multiple accounts to improve your voting capability. We will be watching for this and all accounts will be removed if caught.
5. If we detect that the votes have been manipulated by abusing a potential loophole in our voting system then we reserve the right to disqualify a particular blogger for the month.  To our knowledge there is only one possible loophole so we will specifically be watching for that occurrence to happen.
6. In order for someone to vote they either have to be bloggers on the community themselves OR they could sign up for just a USER account which would give them voting privileges but not blogging privileges which wouldn’t let them have a chance of winning the contest themselves. They would create an account the same way you’d create a blog by starting here.

We have some additional advice that could assist you in your chances of winning.

1. Share your post with friends and family and ask them to vote for your post.
2. If you belong to a forum, have MySpace or Facebook, add a link to a specific post that you want to get votes on.
3. Writing multiple posts increases the likelihood that someone will find a post they like of yours and vote.
4. Comment on other blogs within the community. Our commenting system will display a link directly back to your most recent post.
5. Stumbling your posts on http://www.StumbleUpon.com or other traffic generating sources might increase your odds.

The winner will be announced on the 1st of each month on our Announcements page and the winner will receive an e-mail from parents@bloggingmothers.com.

This is a nifty addition to the site that we are testing out. At the moment of this posting the tool isn’t showing any statistics but I imagine that as soon as it updates we should start to see where in the world people are coming from. If this turns out to be a working tool then we may impliment it sitewide and individually so that you can see where your visitors are coming from.
