Last weekend I attended the
MMA expo they had in Long Beach, CA. It was only $20 at the door to get in. The $20 bucks gets you access to both sides of the convention center where on one side is the Expo where they sell all kinds of shirts and other gear. There were name brands there such as EliteXC, Tapout, Affliction, Warrior, Hitman and more.
There are also booths where fighters such as B.J. Penn sign autographs and take pictures, etc.
I had the privilege of meeting Robbie Lawler, Nate Diaz, Joe Stevenson, Pat Miletich, and more at this expo. I met a few other models and other people as well.

On the other side of the expo was a large amount of mats setup where there were martial art demonstrations of all kinds going on. There were tournaments, of all different types such as Jujitsu, Kemp Karate, Taekwondo and more.

I saw a guy get choked out with his own Gi and pass out. It was funny because the referee grabbed his legs and lifted them up and shook them to make all the blood go back to his head and wake him up. The guy woke up and simply went over to his opponent and congratulated him.
There were many other fighters there that I didn't meet because their lines were simply too long and I don't like to wait. So I missed the chance to meet B.J. Penn, Shawn Sherk, Tim Syliva, Josh Koscheck and more. Uria Faber from the
WEC was also there and he was pretty much the most popular dude. His line of fans was really long and stayed that way the whole time we were there.
This was a totally kick back and fun event. The atmoshpere was very positive and friendly all around. I can't wait to go to the next one and get more pictures and talk more with the fighters. I think the next time I will watch more of the competitions as well.
